2024 award guidelines for individuals who contribute to foreign investment attraction (including those returning to Korea)

1. Basic Direction

ㅇ Awards will be granted to executives and employees of foreign-invested companies, reshoring companies, and supporting organizations that have bolstered the Korean economy by attracting foreign investments and facilitating their return from overseas to Korea.

- Awards will be granted based on a comprehensive evaluation of contributions in foreign investment attraction, facilitating its return to the country, and arranging awards and discipline for each recipient field.

- Awards of commendation will be bestowed upon representatives and employees of foreign-invested companies and reshoring companies, representatives and executives of supporting organizations, public officials of central ministries and local governments, and organizations of local governments and supporting organizations.

3. Eligibility Requirements for Reward Recipients

A. Reward recipients

① Investment company

ㅇ Representative: An individual who has made a significant contribution to attracting and promoting foreign investment among the company representatives with a foreign investment performance of more than USD 1 million or an individual who has significantly contributed to revitalizing domestic investment and creating jobs by returning to the country among the representatives of a company selected as a reshoring company

ㅇ Employees (including executives): An individual who has made a significant contribution to attracting and promoting foreign investment among the executives and employees of the company with a foreign investment performance of more than USD 1 million or an individual who has significantly contributed to revitalizing domestic investment and creating jobs by returning to the country among the executives and employees of a company selected as a reshoring company, and recommended by the head of the affiliated company

② Supporting organization: Representatives and employees

ㅇ Persons recognized as having made significant contributions in attracting foreign investment or returning to Korea and recommended by the head of the organizations, such as overseas embassies, KOTRA IK (including KOTRA’s overseas offices), Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Foreign Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Korea, Korea Foreign Company Association, Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, Korea International Trade Association, Export–Import Bank of Korea, Korea Trade Insurance Corporation, Korea Federation of Banks (including foreign exchange banks, etc.), various industry organizations, domestic law firms, investment banks, etc.

③ Central government and local government officials: Individuals

ㅇ An individual recommended by the head of the affiliated organization who is recognized as having made significant contributions to attracting foreign investment or supporting its return to the country

④ Local governments and supporting organizations: organizations

ㅇ Local governments and supporting organizations that set exemplary standards for others through excellent business performance in supporting foreign investment attraction, designating foreign investment zones, and conducting foreign investment attraction projects

ㅇ Local governments and related organizations that set exemplary standards for others through excellent business performance in operating the return-to-domestic system and attracting and supporting companies, etc.
